About me

I am a qualified BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist based in Romford. I have accumulated 25 years of experience working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, lack of interest/motivation, cultural conflicts, loss, bereavement, addictions, sexuality, HIV and relationship difficulties. I have worked in different settings as a Sexual Health Counsellor, a Group Facilitator, Senior Practitioner, Lecturer and Sexual Health Adviser.

I am also a Trustee for The Josephine Wolf Trust and on the board for British Association of Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH).  I am currently working part time for the NHS in Sexual health services.  I am also a representative of the Society of Sexual Health Advisers, operational professional committee, supporting Sexual health advisers around the UK.

I draw upon a variety of theoretical approaches tailored to the client's needs as well as employing approaches such as; psychodynamic, motivational interview, gestalt, cognitive behavioural therapy, personal centred therapy, mindfulness, hypnotherapy and solution focus therapy.

My approach always considers the influences of the past and how they have affected the individual's life experiences. The decision to embark on a therapeutic experience may cause people to experience a sense of distress, confusion, anxiety or feeling overwhelmed, feeling out of control. However, I aim to create a safe and warm environment where I offer opportunities to confidentially explore these emotional and psychological thoughts and feelings. My aim is to enable the client to reflect, clarify and work towards living in a more harmonious, resilient and resourceful way.
