Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

level3level3The Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector is an introductory teaching qualification which prepares learners for teaching in a wide range of contexts and does not require learners to be teaching.

This qualification has been developed to meet a requirement of the Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007 and related contractual requirements introduced by the funding agency at the same time.

Achieving the qualification will provide sufficient evidence that an individual has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to teach beyond an initial year in the FE sector.

This five day course is designed for those who are new to Lifelong Learning as well as those who work within the sector and who need to gain this minimum qualification to enable them to practice as a teacher/trainer within the youth/adult/community arena. PTLLS can be achieved at Level 3 or 4.

Learners must be a minimum of 18 years of age and will have to complete assignments and a practical teaching activity to gain the qualification.

Many funders and organisations now require staff to have a PTLLS qualification.
