So over the last few weeks I have been really busy with our Annual Celebration… It’s coming around fast so it’s all go-go-go from now on! All our Participating Units will have received their invites this week, and we’ll shortly be posting out invitations to young people and others on our guestlist.

Next month I will be announcing the PUs whose young people will be involved in the celebration - whether performing or delivering a presentation as part of their awards or helping to arrange certain areas for the evening. There are still some opportunities left before we announce our programme so if you/the young people you work with want to get involved please let me know!

Ok so this week  I got to meet a few new faces who will be joining so many in delivering the YAA’s with the Lifetrain Trust. Laura ran an “Introduction to the YAAs” training day and I get involved in the afternoon where all workers put phoenix yctogether an “implementation plan” - this sets out how they plan to use the awards (what levels, what activities etc) and how Lifetrain’s gonna support them make it happen. So a big “welcome” to Phoenix Youth Centre, Guildford YMCA and Englefield Green Youth Centre… it was a lovely day getting to know everyone and I can’t wait to get set up and start the young peoples first challenge. I have already set dates for my first support visits so I will see you all soon!

Also this week one of our PU’s Ashford Park Primary School have entered another 9 Junior Achievement Awards for moderation. It’s their second “batch” of mainly year 6 pupils getting involved in activities both in and out of school. There were some brilliant ideas and we’re hoping to make provision for the young people to continue their personal development using the YAA Programmes at either their secondary schools or local youth centres… Laura’s on a recruitment drive! Well done to all at Ashford Park - your certificates will be with you shortly!
